The Power Of Humans

Two people loved each other
It was clear and true between them
They did not understand what hurt meant
They did not know it was possible
They lived, in love.

There was a person who was afraid
Why? We do not know
And, for now, it doesn’t matter
This person knows hurt is possible
They lived, in fear.

There was a child who was love
Everything he did was for himself
And with the passion of life
He did not know how to refrain this passion
He lived, in love.

There was a parent who was afraid
For the pain or death of their child
They didn’t understand what they traded
When they taught their fear to the child
They lived, in fear.

There was a man who forged in love
He did not waiver in his commitment
He understood the nature of love
And he knew what was possible
He lived, in love.

There was a woman who wanted more
She did not know the path
But she knew what she wanted
And she ventured like an explorer into the wild
She lived, in love.

There was a woman who was afraid
For good, practical reasons
She could not understand the power of love
And she threw rocks at anything that scared her
She lived, in fear.

There was a man who wanted to be known
Being a great man was important to him
He would not allow the cold, dark of his aloneness
He would never allow this reality in anyone
He lived, in fear.

There was a man who wanted to be good
Being a good man was important to him
He would face anything if he felt it was right
He had forgotten this about himself
He lived, in fear.

There is only fear or love
There is no grey area
The grey area is fear and deception
and has been normalized.

And now we ask for rules to protect us
The whole of society begging for protection
From the depths of our own thoughts
And fears and deceptions.

Creating human life that spirals inward
Smaller and smaller
This is the power of the human…
To actually motivate life to end.

No other species has that power
Smaller and smaller
Smaller and smaller
This can be our destiny.
